asphodel is a digital wellbeing application designed to help users manage when and how long selected apps can be used.
Contact: asphodel.app@gmail.com
asphodel processes the following information locally on your device:
• The names, package identifiers and icons of launchable applications.
• Which application is currently active and how long it remains active.
• Usage history calculated from this activity.
• Blocking profiles, schedules, usage limits and app selections.
• Blocking-screen text, designs and images selected by the user.
• Pause-before-opening settings.
• Premium entitlement status.
This information is used only to provide asphodel’s app-management, usage-tracking and blocking features.
asphodel uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to detect which application is currently active, calculate app usage, enforce user-configured restrictions, return to the Home screen when a restricted app is opened, and display a blocking screen.
asphodel does not use Accessibility access to record keystrokes, read messages, collect the text displayed inside other applications, take screenshots, or transmit Accessibility information to the developer or third parties.
Accessibility access is optional, but app-usage tracking and blocking cannot function without it. It can be disabled at any time through Android’s Accessibility settings.
Profiles, usage history, settings and custom blocking-screen content are stored in the app’s private storage on the user’s device.
Depending on the user’s Android backup and device-transfer settings, some locally stored app data may be included in Android system backups or transferred to another device. These services are governed by the applicable platform provider’s privacy policy.
Users can delete locally stored information by clearing asphodel’s app data or uninstalling the application.
When a user creates a custom blocking screen, they may choose an image using Android’s system photo picker. The selected image is copied into asphodel’s private local storage and is not uploaded to the developer.
Premium purchases are processed by Google Play. asphodel receives purchase and entitlement information needed to determine whether Premium is active.
The developer does not receive users’ full payment-card or bank-account details. Google Play’s handling of payment information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
If a user chooses “Send feedback,” asphodel opens their email application with diagnostic details including the app version, Android version and device model.
The email is sent only if the user chooses to send it. The developer may receive the user’s email address, message and included diagnostic details and will use them only to respond to feedback, provide support and improve asphodel.
Users may request deletion of feedback emails by contacting asphodel.app@gmail.com.
asphodel does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs.
The developer does not sell users’ personal information or locally stored app-usage information.
asphodel is not specifically designed for or directed at children.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when asphodel’s features or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated accordingly.
