Playground & Speed Learning Sessions

This year we are excited to announce the addition of two new session types:

  • The EdTech in the Library and the STEM/Makerspace Playgrounds will feature 10 minute "speed learning" presentations where presenters can interact with participants to hook them with an idea and possibly give a little hands-on time with the concept, topic, tech tool, etc.
  • The goal of these "speed learning sessions" is to provide an engaging and interactive area where informal presentations can be given, conversations can be started, and collaboration can take place.
  • Submit an application to present in either of the playgrounds by clicking here.
  • Applications to present are due by March 15, 2019.

Book Talk Campfire

We are continuing the book smackdown session tradition, but putting a cozy spin on it. We are inviting authors, librarians, book publishers, and any bibliophiles to share a 3-5 minute book talk on their favorite titles. Learn about new books, diverse books, award/honor books, and many more! This is an informal session where anyone with a title to book talk can share. (No session application is required to book talk.)

Please contact the 2019 conference chair, Cristin M. Dillard, at cdillard@alsde.edu if you have any questions.
