Dungeon Dash was created in the first semester of second year in Game Development. I was paired with one of the second year game programers in my class and we were tasked with creating an upgrade game during the semester.
I used Procreate on my iPad to create all the 2D assets for the game.
In Dungeon Dash, you play as an under paid and over worked office employee, Devin.
"Devin is just an ordinary office worker who blows off steam at the local batting cage after long days of deadlines and stress. But when a meteorite crashes into Earth and unleashes waves of magic, the world is transformed and dungeons filled with monsters erupt everywhere. Unfortunately for Devin, one of those dungeons appears directly beneath his office. Now, between endless paperwork and waves of monsters invading his workplace, he’s falling even further behind schedule. If he can’t defeat the dungeon boss, he’ll never meet his deadlines… and worse, he’ll be stuck working unpaid overtime. Thus begins the tale of a normal businessman forced to pick up a bat and fight his way through the dungeon—just to survive corporate life.
Step into Devin’s shoes in a side-scrolling auto-battler where work deadlines aren’t your only enemy. Battle waves of monsters pouring out of the office dungeon, earn currency with each victory, and invest it back into your team. Upgrade Devin’s skills, recruit quirky allies, and build a stronger party to push deeper into the dungeon. The farther you go, the tougher the monsters—and the closer you get to conquering the boss that stands between you and finishing your work on time. "
This game was designed to be a 2D side scrolling auto battler and upgrade game.
