I am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Economics at University of Texas at Arlington and will be a visiting fellow at Stanford University in Fall, 2025. I completed my PhD in Economics from Colorado State University (CSU) in 2022. Before coming to CSU in 2017, I completed my master’s degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, and worked as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Delhi from 2012-2017. My research papers have been published in World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Energy Economics, World Development, The Energy Journal, I have twelve years of teaching experience as an inclusive pedagogue at the undergraduate and graduate level in economics and have taught undergraduate and master's students in Economics and Business, in–person, online and hybrid modalities. I have also worked as a consultant, specializing in applied economic development research for the World Bank, United Nations and 2M Research.
My research grounded in socio-economic theory applies modern econometric methods to study topics in labor, gender, child development, health, socio-economic behavior and inequality, in domestic and global contexts. I am interested in answering questions related to how economic opportunities are generated and distributed in society, the interplay between power and institutions and between economic behavior and the performance of the economy.
