Major Initiatives

• 2025, Established Research Frontier Network in Energy Modelling with Support from Schmidt Sciences Foundation (USD 1.8M)

• 2023, Founded Kotak School of Sustainability (led the proposal formulation, team building, worked extensively with the donor at multiple levels, worked through Senate and Board approvals, received sanction of Rs. 120 Cr from Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited)

• 2021, Founded Chandrakanta Kesavan Center for Energy Policy and Climate Solutions with a funding of USD 2.5 M (led proposal formulation, team building, discussions with the donor, presentations and final approval)

• 2020, Founded the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering (led proposal formulation, team building, presentations are multiple levels internally for Senate and Board approvals)

• 2017, Founded the Department of Materials Engineering (now Metallurgical and Materials Engineering) at IIT Jodhpur
