Imran Ashraf is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Information and Communication Engineering, College of Engineering, Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan-Si, South Korea. He received a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Yeungnam University, Korea, in 2018. He got his MS degree from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2011 with distinction. He earned Sparbanksstiftelsen Kronan Scholarship for his M.Sc. degree from Sweden as well as a Gold Medal for outstanding achievements in BS from Allama Iqbal Open University, Pakistan.

His research interests include next generation Location Based Services, indoor positioning and localization using WLAN, smartphone sensors and 4G and 5G cellular networks, machine and deep learning solutions for positioning and localization, deep learning architecture and algorithms for classification and prediction, sentiment analysis and quantification, smart sensors solutions (LIDAR) for smart car and data fusion strategies for environment sensing in autonomous vehicles.
