Ashes to Ashes is a vibrant celebration of David Bowie, the man and his music.
When Bowie died in January 2016, it brought to an end a career of extraordinary creativity spanning more than five decades.
Starring the multi award-winning Paul Antony, Ashes to Ashes contains over 30 of Bowie’s best known songs. Paul and a band of top musicians perform hits including the psychedelic Space Oddity from 1969, right up to Lazarus from Bowie’s final album, released two days before his death.
There are seventies rockers, such as Jean Genie and Suffragette City; Young Americans from the so-called plastic soul period; Sound and Vision, Boys Keep Swinging and Heroes from the critically acclaimed Berlin Trilogy. The quirky Changes and epic Life on Mars come from the seminal Hunky Dory album, while the Nile Rodgers co-produced Let’s Dance album delivers China Girl, Modern Love and of course, the dance floor-filling title track.
Fashion, Fame, Ziggy Stardust, Under Pressure, The Man Who Sold the World, Starman, Golden Years and the song that defies categorisation and gives the show its name, Ashes to Ashes.
In the course of just over two hours, the audience is treated to the full range of Bowie’s songwriting genius, delivered with energy, spectacle, precision and respect. A must see for fans and anyone who appreciates the life and work of a true rock star.
