If you want lightweight sports earbuds for commuting with a chic, detachable bowknot design and solid noise isolation, choose ASHATA Earbuds Open Ear; if you need with mic earbuds for commuting that offer massive battery life, water resistance, and all-day comfort without frequent recharging, choose VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds.
• ASHATA Earbuds Open Ear: Strengths include a unique fashion-forward clamp-on design with a removable rhinestone bowknot and health-focused volume algorithms; trade-off is the shorter 4-hour playback time per charge.
• VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds: Strengths feature an impressive 50-hour total playtime, IPX5 sweatproof rating, and ergonomic fit for glasses wearers; trade-off is the lack of the specific decorative aesthetic found on the ASHATA model.
• Who each pick is for: ASHATA suits style-conscious commuters who prioritize look and hearing protection over marathon listening sessions, while VIXSKY is built for active users and travelers who demand endurance and durability.
The ASHATA on Earbuds are designed for the user who treats their audio gear as both a utility and a fashion accessory. The defining characteristic here is the clamp-on design that rests gently on the ear rather than inserting into the canal. This approach ensures a secure fit that remains non-pressure, which is a significant advantage for anyone sensitive to in-ear discomfort during long commutes or workdays. The product specification highlights a "Health Ears algorithm" that automatically adjusts volume levels. In practical terms, this means the device actively works to protect your hearing during extended use, a feature that adds a layer of safety for daily listeners who might otherwise crank up the volume to block out traffic noise.
For the commuter looking for something stylish, the inclusion of a detachable bowknot decorated with rhinestones sets this product apart from the typical utilitarian look of most open-ear headphones. You can attach or remove this accessory depending on whether you are heading to a workout, traveling, or running errands around town. The material is ABS, ensuring a lightweight build that stays in place without causing fatigue. The sound technology utilizes dual reverse sound transfer to minimize leakage by 99%, allowing you to enjoy music without disturbing others in shared spaces like buses or cafes. However, the Bluetooth version is listed as V6.0 with a range of 10 to 15 meters, which provides stable pairing but may not be as robust as some newer standards in very crowded signal environments.
The primary limitation for the ASHATA model lies in its power management. With a single charge delivering approximately 4 hours of playback and a charging time of about 1 hour, this device requires frequent top-ups. The earbud battery capacity is 25mAh, paired with a case holding 180mAh. While this is sufficient for a standard morning commute and a gym session, it falls short for long-haul travel or a full day of continuous listening without access to a power source. If your daily routine involves back-to-back meetings, long flights, or extended outdoor runs where you cannot stop to charge, the 4-hour window will force you to manage your usage carefully.
You should skip the ASHATA Earbuds Open Ear if your priority is maximum battery endurance or if you engage in high-intensity activities involving heavy sweating. While they claim to be safe for workouts, the focus on the decorative bowknot and the relatively small battery capacity suggests these are better suited for casual listening, office work, or moderate exercise rather than grueling athletic performance. They are also less ideal if you require a dedicated microphone for clear voice calls during intense movement, as the feature set emphasizes sound isolation and aesthetics over communication clarity.

The VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds are engineered specifically for the user who needs reliability and endurance above all else. The standout feature is the battery life: a single charge offers 8 hours of continuous playback, and the portable charging case extends this total to an impressive 50 hours. For a commuter, this translates to weeks of use before needing to plug into a wall outlet. Whether you are taking an early morning run, walking the dog, or traveling long distances, the music won't stop. The device is built with an ultra-light clip-on design that fits perfectly on the ears without blocking the canal. This ergonomic shape is explicitly noted to be friendly for glasses wearers, preventing the squeezing or slipping that often occurs when combining traditional earbuds with eyewear frames.
Durability is another critical pillar for the VIXSKY model. With an IPX5 waterproof rating, these earbuds effectively resist sweat, rain, and daily splashes. This makes them genuinely suitable for cycling, hiking, and gym workouts regardless of the weather conditions. Unlike models that are merely splash-resistant, the IPX5 rating implies a higher tolerance for moisture, giving you confidence to push harder during a summer jog or a rainy commute. The audio quality is driven by a premium dynamic driver unit that delivers balanced bass and crisp vocals. The adaptive directional sound technology helps minimize leakage, letting you stay aware of surrounding traffic and environment while still enjoying immersive stereo sound. This balance is crucial for anyone navigating busy streets where situational awareness is a safety requirement.
Communication is seamlessly integrated into the VIXSKY experience. The device features a built-in microphone and smart touch controls that allow you to easily answer or end calls, play/pause music, and activate voice assistants. This functionality makes the earbuds a practical tool for work meetings and daily communication, not just entertainment. The Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity ensures fast pairing and a stable wireless connection, reducing the frustration of dropped signals. Additionally, the manufacturer includes a reliable 1-year after-sales support warranty, providing peace of mind regarding the product's longevity and customer service.
However, there are trade-offs to consider. The VIXSKY earbuds do not offer the same level of customizable fashion accessories as the ASHATA model; they come in a fixed Rose Gold color without detachable decorations. If your wardrobe changes frequently and you want your tech to match your outfit down to the smallest detail, the lack of modular accessories might feel limiting. Furthermore, while the sound quality is described as crystal-clear with Hi-Res LDAC audio potential, the focus on battery and durability might mean the overall sound signature is tuned more for clarity and environmental awareness than for deep, bass-heavy immersion preferred by audiophiles.
You should skip the VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds if you are strictly looking for a purely aesthetic statement piece with interchangeable parts. If your main concern is having a gadget that looks different every day based on the occasion, the fixed design and color option may not satisfy that desire. Additionally, if you are someone who listens to music exclusively indoors in a quiet environment and doesn't care about water resistance or long battery life, you might find the bulkier case and the emphasis on sports durability unnecessary for your specific use case.

• Best for short commutes and style → ASHATA Earbuds Open Ear: Ideal if your trip is under 3 hours and you want to look polished while listening.
• Best for all-day endurance → VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds: Perfect for those who need their audio to last from morning until night without interruption.
After weighing the specifications and real-world application of both devices, I would personally choose the VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds for my own commuting needs. While the ASHATA model offers undeniable charm with its bowknot accessory, the practical reality of daily travel demands reliability that only VIXSKY can provide. The 50-hour battery life alone transforms the user experience, eliminating the anxiety of finding a charger mid-day. Combined with the IPX5 water resistance and the specific design that accommodates glasses wearers comfortably, VIXSKY feels like the smarter investment for a lifestyle that involves movement, weather changes, and long hours away from home. For best headphones for commuting, the ability to go days without charging and withstand sweat or rain outweighs the cosmetic appeal of a detachable decoration.
Yes, the VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds are specifically designed with an ergonomic clip that is friendly for glasses wearers, preventing the squeezing or slipping that other models might cause. The ASHATA model also claims a comfortable fit but does not explicitly highlight compatibility with eyewear frames in the same way.
The ASHATA Earbuds offer approximately 4 hours of playback on a single charge, requiring frequent recharging. In contrast, the VIXSKY Earbuds provide 8 hours per charge and extend to a total of 50 hours with the included charging case, making them far superior for long-term use.
Both products utilize technology to reduce sound leakage. ASHATA uses dual reverse sound transfer technology to minimize leakage by 99%, while VIXSKY employs adaptive directional sound technology. Both aim to keep your music private while maintaining awareness of your surroundings.
The VIXSKY Open Ear Earbuds are rated IPX5, meaning they are water-resistant against sweat, rain, and splashes, making them ideal for rigorous outdoor activities.
