I have been creating traditional art since childhood and, while I took a few art classes in high school, I am largely self-taught. In 2024, I overcame my fear of digital art and quickly developed a deep passion for it as it finally allowed me to experiment without fear of ruining things. I use procreate to make a majority of my work, while occasionally doing some pieces in color pencil, watercolor, and oil paint.
Music heavily influences my creative process, often serving as the starting point for my ideas and visual concepts. I frequently draw inspiration from specific songs or lyrics to help me come up with the compositions of my work. One of my favorite type of art to create are digital collages because they allow me to build layered, symbolic compositions that invite personal interpretation. I also enjoy reimagining characters from different franchises as black female characters in my artwork as a way to feel seen in spaces where we are often overlooked or excluded. By redesigning familiar characters through a Black lens, I create the representation I wish I had growing up.
