Ocean Tech Studio ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Ascnd mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
By using Ascnd, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (via Google Sign-In)
- Display name (via Google Sign-In)
Profile Information
During onboarding, you provide:
- Name, Age, Gender, Height, Weight, Primary improvement goal
Facial Photos
- You upload up to 3 facial photos (front, left, and right angles) for AI-based facial analysis.
- Photos are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after analysis is complete. We do not store, retain, or share your photos.
Scores and Plans
- AI-generated facial feature scores (jawline, symmetry, skin quality, eye area, facial harmony)
- Personalised improvement plans generated based on your scores and profile
Subscription Information
- We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your payment through Google Play. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.
- We store your subscription status (active/inactive) to provide access to premium features.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate AI-based facial analysis scores from your photos
- Create personalised improvement plans based on your scores and profile data
- Manage your subscription and provide access to premium features
- Respond to feedback and support requests
- Improve the App's functionality and user experience
We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.
3. AI Processing
- Facial photos are sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic's Claude API) for analysis.
- The AI processes your photos to generate facial feature scores and returns the results.
- Photos are deleted from our servers immediately after processing. The AI provider does not retain your photos beyond the duration of the API request.
- Only numerical scores and text-based reasons are stored after analysis.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your account data, scores, and plans are stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore).
- Data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
- We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction.

6. Data Retention
- Facial photos: Deleted immediately after AI analysis is complete.
- Account data, scores, and plans: Retained as long as your account is active.
- Upon account deletion: All your data (profile, scores, plans) is permanently deleted from our servers.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored in the App
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings > Delete Account
- Withdraw consent by discontinuing use of the App and deleting your account
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Children's Privacy
Ascnd is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13,
we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
