We work at the intersection of solid-state supramolecular chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and materials chemistry, focusing on the design and synthesis of functional molecules, direct air capture, ionic liquids, molecular crystals, pharmaceutical solids, and responsive crystals. Our research involves not only the creation of these materials but also a deep exploration of their structural properties and the underlying mechanisms driving their behavior. A key area of our work is investigating the structural origins of the nanomechanics of organic crystals and how these properties are interconnected with other physicochemical characteristics. Through advanced crystal engineering, we aim to develop novel materials with tailored functionalities for applications in drug delivery, flexible electronics, and smart systems. Our interdisciplinary approach combines synthetic chemistry, structural analysis, and computational modeling to unravel the complex relationships between molecular structure and material properties.
