Frequently Asked Questions:
How does interval walking work in Aruki?
Aruki guides you through alternating fast-walk and slow-walk phases. Start a session and the app times each phase, gives you voice cues when it's time to switch pace, and tracks your distance, speed, and calories.
Why does the START button say "WAIT"?
For outdoor walks, Aruki uses GPS to measure your distance and pace, so it waits for a good GPS signal before you can start. Move to open sky (away from buildings and trees) and the button will turn green in a few moments. Treadmill mode does not need GPS and can start right away.
Why is my distance not tracking?
Make sure Location permission is allowed for Aruki in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Outdoor tracking works best with a clear view of the sky. If you are walking indoors, use Treadmill mode instead.
Does Aruki work on a treadmill?
Yes. Switch to Treadmill mode by tapping the GPS chip on the main screen. Enter your treadmill's fast and slow speeds and Aruki will estimate your distance and calories from them.
How are calories calculated?
Calories are estimated from your walking speed and the profile you entered (height, weight, age, and gender). You can update your profile at any time in Settings.
What does Aruki Premium include?
Premium is a yearly subscription that removes all ads and unlocks custom walking intervals, unlimited workout history, the monthly summary, advanced filtering and sorting, and workout deletion.
How do I restore my Premium purchase?
If you reinstalled the app or switched to a new iPhone, open the Premium screen and tap "Restore Purchase". Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Aruki, and tap Cancel. You keep Premium until the end of the paid period. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where is my data stored? How do I delete it?
All your data — profile, workouts, and history — is stored only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Deleting the app permanently deletes all of its data. You can also delete individual workouts inside the app with Premium.
Why do I see ads?
The free version shows a small banner ad on the report and history screens. Ads are non-personalized and do not track you. Upgrading to Premium removes all ads.
