Follow along with this video for a "how-to-draw" OR print one of the templates below and use supplies at home to create an ugly sweater, hat, or mitten! Some examples of supplies might be: pom-poms, glitter, sequins, colored papers, etc. HAVE FUN!!!
Trace two hands (One right and one left will work best)
Hand tracing will need to be cut out.
Then cut out a red candy cane shape
Next cut out white stripes for the candy cane
Glue the white stripes to the red cane
Cut the extra white paper of the edges of the red cane
One wiggly eye will need to be glued onto the red cane
Glue the brown hand antler in place on the top of the cane
Glue a red pom-pom in place if you want a Rudolph like candy cane reindeer ( A brown pom-pom could be used if you want to make a non-Rudolph reindeer.)
OR use any other supplies you have if you don't have these!
This lesson we were reviewing the learning objective: I can identify and use positive and negative space and I can identify and use outlines.
We began by creating a night landscape with black and gray paper. Next we created a snowman and winter trees. Then the snowman and trees were traced and cut from black paper to create a shadow or the negative space.
Finally the whole landscape with winter trees and snowman were glued onto a large white paper with the negative space create with the black trees and snowman.
***Remote students DO NOT need to use a larger piece of white paper; you can simply work on two separate sheets and put together.
