ARTS ACADEMY THEATRE SCHOOL LTD. are committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information we collect from you when you or your children sign up to our courses and classes.

The Personal Information We Collect From You

We collect personal details for students taking part in courses/classes to include name, date of birth, school attended (if under 16) and medical information. If the student is aged 18 or above we will collect e-mail address, telephone number and home address (including postcode). Where the student is under 18 we will collect for one parent a name, e-mail address, telephone number and home address (including postcode). We will also collect for all students an additional emergency contact name and telephone number. We may also collect a headshot photograph and a brief biography. Through MailChimp, who we use as a marketing automation platform, we may also collect name (or parent’s name if under 18) and e-mail address.

How We Use Information

We will use the information collected to send you e-mails regarding auditions, rehearsals and performances associated with the course/class to which you or your children are registered. We may also send you e-mail publicity for courses and classes run by us in the future. For courses with a final performance. photographs and biographies may appear in show programmes, which are public documents. For courses with a final performance and where the student are aged 16 or under, we are obliged to share name, address (including postcode), date of birth and school attended with the local authority in which the performance venue is located to ensure we meet licensing requirements for child performance. Where venues collect fees on our behalf we will share with them the name of the student to assist in cross-referencing payments. We will share name (or parent’s name if under 18) and e-mail address with MailChimp, who we use as a marketing automation platform. We will never share your information with any other third parties without your consent.


We put in place reasonable security measures to protect against any unauthorised access or damage to, or disclosure or loss of, your information.

Your Rights

Please let us know if your information changes as it is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and up to date. We will keep name and e-mail address indefinitely so we may contact you about courses and classes in the future. All other information will be stored for no more than 3 months following the conclusion of the course or classes. You can ask us to remove your personal information from our records at any time and we will do so and stop sending you further information though, for safeguarding reasons, this may impact on you or your children taking part in our courses and classes.

You have the right to request a copy of all the personal information we hold about you in a Subject Access Request for which you will be charged a fee in line with new regulations. To do this, simply write to us at the address below. We will take all reasonable steps to confirm your identity before providing you with details of any personal information we may hold about you.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time; for example, to keep it up to date or to comply with legal requirements. If there will be any significant changes made to the use of your personal information in a manner different from that stated, we will seek your permission first.
