Storytelling is at the heart of successful marketing in a community arts context. Organisations like Artis Community Cymuned exist to empower people in the community through creativity. Great soundbite, right? But that’s all it is if we can’t find a way to share this empowerment to inspire more people to get creative.
You will have heard the phrase ‘content is king’. It’s not enough anymore to write marketing copy with a strong image and a call to action to ‘book here’. As marketeers we need to make an emotional connection with our audience. This emotional connection needs to work on two levels. It needs to resonate with existing audiences and new audiences.

How can we use social media and the media to tell our stories of empowerment. How can we generate content to inspire more people to engage in community arts in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil?
• Research and develop a digital content plan for Artis Community’s programme
• Produce a timelined and budgeted digital content campaign for use on our website, social media channels and the media that tell our story and increase engagement in our work.
• Identify and implement stories which will reach key target audiences and inspire the community to embrace our programme of activity in the name of empowerment through creativity.
