The Arts Health and Wellbeing agenda has grown significantly in the last few years. This strongly evidence-based agenda is concerned with any arts intervention, activity or commission that directly improves health & wellbeing outcomes for the participants involved.
The recent introduction of the Well Being of Future Generations Act (2015) has meant that Artis Community Cy muned are preparing to be part of a forward-thinking, sustainable and healthier Wales. We aim to achieve this by creating community-focused programs of artistic and creative activity offering participants nurturing arts experiences that improve health and wellbeing.
• How can we develop an impactful programme of high-quality arts health and wellbeing provision at our new home opening in Pontypridd later this year, called YMa?
• How can we build on this programme of activity as a community outreach programme?
• How can we create an offer that would appeal to GP’s, mental health services and other support organisations that would refer YMa and the work of Artis Community Cymuned as the ‘go-to’ organisation for social prescribing Influencing Health & Social Care in Wales?
We would like you to pitch a community wellbeing program of activity to run at YMa that will directly address the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. We understand that the pandemic has affected people in a number of ways both collectively and individually and we would like your valuable input to address the wellbeing of our local community using the power of the creative arts to support transformation and change.
• Research leading, innovative arts health wellbeing projects and interventions.
• Propose a programme of in house, arts health & wellbeing artistic and creative activity based on your findings as well as a secondary, community outreach programme targeting the most deprived areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf & Merthyr Tydfil
