So, as we said in the newsletter we've purchased a house in New Hampshire smack on the border of the Lakes Region and the White Mountains (it's the best of both worlds). We originally bought it as a vacation house this summer for our 20th anniversary, but loved the area so much that we decided to make it permanent.
The living room has wood floors and great height ceilings. We bought a new couch with reclining seats and a pull-down back that becomes a shelf with cup holders and outlets for charging our devices.
The kitchen has an island cooktop and a peninsula counter with a breakfast bar. We bought two rolling butcher blocks for the end of the cook island and both ends pull out as a table or large work area (you can see one end in the middle pic below). They have built-in drawers and cupboards for storage. I can't believe all the storage we have. We have the washer and dryer on the first floor now, yay! No more knee issues just to do laundry with it tucked into a kitchen closet, we love it.
Off of the kitchen is the breezeway and the door to the deck, Cozy loves it!
This is the family room, or as Jonathan always calls it the breezeway. He built these stairs into the kitchen as the others where to steep and less than sturdy.
Jonathan also got his carport, which is only open on one end and is more like a garage. It has room for two cars but, since we only have one car, I will be using half as seating and gardening stuff for now. I plan to hang plants in every one of those windows during the summer and have several garden areas in the yard. Anyway, from the carport you walk into the breezeway/family room through glass sliders, then up Jonathan's new stairs and into the kitchen through another glass slider.
