*BAB BOUJLOUD
FES OLD MEDINA*
Built in the 12th century, the Bab Boujloud gate was initially part of the Casbah Boujloud. The door consists of three doors, two of which are smaller symmetrical. The door is covered with blue ceramics, the color of the city of Fez on the outside, and green, the color of Islam on the medina side. It was made of cedar wood and carved stucco which will be restored shortly. The last major restoration of the gate dates from 1912. Today, the city is also working to enlarge Place Boujloud.

Place Nejjarine is the largest souk of carpenters and one of the oldest in Morocco and in the world ;known for its somewhat typical style; and surrounded by antique shops; and the famous Nejjarine woodwork museum.
It offers masterpieces in solid wood, for example: the Amariya which is a wooden palanquin plated with gold or silver which allows the bride and groom to be presented to their guests during the traditional Moroccan wedding ceremony1. Leather tanneries
Morocco is a land of wonder and distinct heritage. One of many attractions to see in morocco is the Tanneries of fez located in the old town more specifically in the oldest Medina quarter of the city called Fes el-Bali. Tanning in Fez and the process behind this tradition that has withstood the test of time. The city of fez is known for its quality leather products and contains three of the most ancient tanneries the largest being Chouara tannery.
The structure of the Tanneries
The worldwide famous tanneries Fez are composed of several stone vessels neatly built side by side in the heart of Fes el-Bali with several balconies overseeing the cauldrons from above. A multitude of hides such as goat, sheep, cow, camel, and many more all processed by hand through manual labor forming a more than 1000 years tradition of true labor of love, passion, and pride.
