Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby's International Realty's Art & Home Gallery welcomes
Laurie Harden's
An Excursion in the Landscape
January 12 - March 16
Laurie Harden seeks to understand and explore the universal experiences and emotions that connect us all as human beings. Inspiration comes from ordinary life, with family and pets, and people met along the way. Her styles range from a traditional, representational approach to a more abstracted, contemporary approach to portraiture. Constant experimentation has led to an expressive, looser style evidenced in most recently in the Drip Locks series, and landscapes inspired by places at home and in her travels. The underlying theme of all her works is the solace and restorative beauty found in nature and the shared humanity and love that connects everyone.
Laurie Harden has worked in a variety of media during her career first as a freelance illustrator, followed by her work as a fine artist and teacher. As a painter, Laurie uses mainly oils and pastels in a variety of subject matter. She teaches drawing, figure drawing, portraiture, oil painting and pastels to adults in Northern New Jersey.
