Ben White will not be featuring for Arsenal against Chelsea this afternoon after being ruled out of the match with illness.
Eagle-eyed Gunners fans had already spotted White's absence from training ahead of the match, but his absence has since been confirmed by The Athletic's David Ornstein and the England international will sit out the London derby.
White's unavailability for the crunch match is a further blow to under-pressure manager Mikel Arteta, who is also without Alexandre Lacazette following a positive coronavirus test that also kept him out of the season opener against Brentford.
Club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also missed the 2-0 loss to Brentford, but the skipper is set to be available for Arteta against the European Champions.

White has only played one match for Arteta's team since his £50million arrival, but the 23-year-old was expected to start against Chelsea and their new signing Romelu Lukaku.
In his absence, Rob Holding is expected to step up and partner Pablo Mari in the heart of the Gunners defence, which has got some Arsenal fans talking.
However, some Gunners fans have pointed out that Holding has a superb record against Chelsea having never lost against the Blues.
With Lukaku set to make his second debut for Chelsea, Holding is likely to be in for a tough afternoon against the Belgian striker.

Champions League holders Chelsea are clear favourites for this tie, having been one of the league's most in-form teams since Thomas Tuchel took charge last season. The Blues thrashed Crystal Palace 3-0 last week and will be confident of another three points this weekend.
New signing Romelu Lukaku, who set a club record with his £97.5 million transfer from Inter Milan, is fit to make his second start for the Blues, and it's looking likely that N’Golo Kante will have recovered from his ankle injury in time for Sunday's 4.30pm kick-off. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is out after testing positive for Covid-19, but Trevoh Chalobah could start following his exquisite goal against Palace.
Meanwhile, opponents Arsenal began their Premier League campaign with an embarrassing loss, leaving Spanish manager Arteta under a huge amount of pressure to beat Chelsea. It won't be easy, especially with key players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette having missed Thursday training due to Covid-19. Thankfully, the Gunners can rely on the likes of Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe to bring a touch of class down the wings.
The good news, for Arteta and Gunners fans, is that Arsenal have a surprisingly-good record against Tuchel's Chelsea. They beat them 2-1 in the FA Cup in August 2020, then 3-1 in last December's Premier League clash before winning 1-0 in the their May 2021 league head-to-head.
