  1. Date: November 20th-21th, 2021

      • Paper sessions are scheduled on November 20th-21th.

      • Sakashita Prize lecture and the ARSC general meeting are scheduled on Saturday, November 20th.


  1. Venue: Online

      • The URL for the meetings will be sent to the e-mail you provided in your registration.


  1. Conference participation fee

ARSC member

      • There is no fee to participate in the conference.

      • You must be a member of the ARSC in order to make the presentation at the conference.

      • You can join the ARSC through the ARSC website.

Others

      • participation fee: 1,000 JPY


  1. Registration:

      • Deadline for abstract submittion: September 15th 2021.

      • Deadline of registration for participation: November 6th 2021.

  1. Presentation:

      • The presentation time in the session is 20 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for scheduled discussion and 10 minutes for general discussion.

      • Please follow the instructions and judgments of the chairperson to ensure the smooth operation of the conference.

      • The conference will be held online(Zoom). Presenters are requested to prepare their own PC with a camera and microphone.

(2) Session:

  1. General sessions

      • These sessions cover a wide range of topics.Although the topics covered are broadly region, urban, transportation, environment, and international issues, papers related to these issues in a broader sense are welcome.

      • Regardless of the key words listed below, we encourage you to submit papers that are relevant to ARSC.

        Growth and Decline, Regional Difference, Industrial Structure, Employment and Population, Local Devolution, Local Delivery Tax, National Land Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Space, Land Use, Urban Aggregation, External Economic, Housing, Urbanization, Urban Finance, Urban Transport, Congestion Taxes, Transportation Demand Management (TDM), Air and Maritime Transport, Investment Profiling, Logistics, Telecommunications, Impact Assessment, Environmental Taxes, Water and Air Pollution, Global Environment, Electricity, Resource Management, Disaster Prevention, Development Assistance, Direct Investment, Trade and Taxes.


  1. Early-bird sessions:

      • This session is for young researchers writing a doctoral thesis or student members enrolled in a graduate school.

      • Papers presented in this session are not limited to single-authored papers. Research papers that are independently produced by young researchers who are the future of ARSC are welcome.

      • Substitute presentations by co-authors are not permitted in this session.

      • Best Student Paper Award: The best paper presented in Early Bird sessions that have been requested to be reviewed for the award at the registration will be selected for the award. Please do not hesitate to apply for this award.


  1. Special sessions

      • These sessions are designed to focus on a specific topic.

      • These sessions consist of several papers that share the same point of view, methodology and subject matter.

      • We are looking for plans for these sessions. If you would like to be an organizer, please apply actively.


  1. Think-tank (practical) sessions

      • The ARSC shares the common understanding that it is important for the ARSC to utilize the research results of its members practically and to introduce various problems discovered in the practice to its members as new research topics.

      • These sessions are based on the reports and issues raised by the members who are involved in planning, policy making and related research.

      • We welcome proposals from supporting members as well as people in the field.

  • Deadline for the full paper submission: November 6th.

  • Deadline for the registration: November 6th.
