Our community concerts are on hold during the pandemic. While we wait to gather again, we invite you to check out some performances from our home, as well as videos from previous Around Hear Community Concerts.

This concert series is free and welcoming to all ages!

All events happen at the Mystic Activity Center, 530 Mystic Ave. Somerville, MA.

Each event begins with a prelude performance by students from Around Hear's individual lessons program. Coffee, tea, cocoa, cookies, and fruit are served, and we provide art and writing supplies for quiet, artistic response to the music.

Visiting the Mystic for the first time? From the T: take a quick ride on the #95 from Sullivan Square. Parking info here.

January - May 20, 2017

Through a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, Marji Gere made a performance tour of community sites and after school programs in and near East Somerville. During this tour she shared music for violin by George Phillip Telemann, Mario Davidovsky, and Paul Hindemith; she paired with this music a rare art form known as the "cranky", and welcomed listeners to respond to the experience via visual art, creative writing and movement. See the adjacent videos to get a sense of this 2017 tour, which paved the way for our current performance and education programming.
