The Telling started August 10. We're now on Telling VI.
What’s the business model? None. This is a service, not a business.
The author believes that this story should remain freely accessible to all Aroras. He personally bore the costs of research, design, and bringing the books to publication. Ash in Our Bones will remain freely available online for the next few years.
The printed books are for those who would like something tangible to hold, annotate, remember through, and one day place in the hands of the next generation.
They are offered as a service, not for profit. Orders for both books and the optional slipcase are placed directly with the producer, at the producer’s cost; the author receives no compensation of any kind.
Please note that Grandpa, Airavata, and Me is available only in print.
Ash in Our Bones was first published in 2024, and Grandpa, Airavata, and Me in 2026.
Both are now available as Heritage Editions—beautifully printed and bound through a global production network, using premium archival-quality 80 pound, coated paper, rich full-color printing, durable linen wrapped hard covers, matching dust jackets, and environmentally responsible materials.
Richly illustrated throughout, they are designed not only to be enjoyed today, but to remain handsome, durable family books that can be passed from one generation to the next.
Ash in Our Bones contains the complete Telling presented on this site in nearly 400 pages, together with the companion journey guides: journey maps, story and Telling summaries, glossary, pronunciation guide, and references.
Nearly 150 illustrations—including dozens of full-page, full-color images created especially for the saga—bring to life the worlds we once walked through.
The book also includes Life Events pages, inviting future generations to record their milestones, memories, reflections, and messages.
Hows to order: When you purchase a book, you pay only the producer’s cost, directly to the producer—currently about $100 plus shipping. Depending on where you live, there may be customs duties, taxes, and other fees in addition. Orders are placed directly with the producer. The author receives no compensation of any kind. Optional handcrafted leather slipcase
If you wish, you can pair the book with a handsome handcrafted leather slipcase, personalized with your name and the Arora crest in gold foil.
The case is crafted by a renowned U.S. bindery carrying forward European bookbinding traditions brought to America in the 19th century.
It's made by hand and wrapped in wine-glaze cowhide imported from Argentina, traditionally finished to bring out its rich color and natural sheen.
The Arora crest is impressed in gold foil from a custom-engraved brass die, and your name is added in gold using hot-stamping. As the leather ages, it develops a distinctive patina, giving each slipcase its own character. The result is a beautiful and durable heirloom that bears your name.
How to order: The design and die-making costs have already been covered; you pay only the bindery’s production cost for your individual case—curently about $400 plus shipping and, depending, on where you live, any customs duties, taxes, or other fees that may apply. You order directly with the bindery, and the author receives no compensation of any kind. If interested, use the Get in Touch button in the navigation above for direct-order information.
Hello! I’m Grandpa.
I wrote this book especially for you.
Inside are seven delightful adventures—
bursting with excitement and laughter—
across more than eighty pages of stories and colorful images.
I’d like to think of myself as wise, gentle, and endlessly patient.
Airavata, my traveling companion, is the Elephant of Heaven:
three trunks, six tusks, and enough mischief to keep the sky giggling.
Together, we’ll take you on a joyful journey
across thousands of years
and thousands of miles.
You’ll visit the wondrous places we once called home
and meet the amazing heroes who helped shape who we are.
And at the end, you’ll receive a special gift
a map to chart your own future adventures.
How to order: Ask your parents if they can order this book for you. The book is currently about $30 plus shipping and, depending, on where you live, any customs duties, taxes, or other fees that may apply. Orders are placed directly with the producer, and the author receives no commission or compensation. If interested, use the Get in Touch button in the navigation above for direct-order information.
