Funnily enough on my FreeBSD desktop there is a libpagemaker installed as dependency for LibreOffice and Scribus (an open source DTP program). I remember it being installed and it raised a curious eyebrow for me. So it seems that both of those programs would be worth trying. YMMV. I'm guessing they would be able to extract text as a minimum.

I've got a document I created back in 1990 using a wp program, Adobe pagemaker. it's about 275 kb long, which is tiny by today's standards. I would really like to be able to open this thing, but I can't find a translator anywhere that will do it. The window on my desktop shows the file has an exec designation at the top left hand side of the file, so I'm guessing that's a formatting style or something.
