I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at California State University, Los Angeles. My research focuses on using AI to tackle computational problems in fields like computational biology, health informatics, and human-computer interaction. I'm particularly interested in exploring how AI can augment human capabilities, enabling us to make more informed and effective decisions.
During my four-year postdoctoral training at the Star lab of Dr. Gillian Hayes at UC Irvine, I had the opportunity to collaborate on research that significantly influenced my work. I also received my PhD from the Computer Science department at the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education (CICESE) in Mexico, under the guidance of Dr. Carlos Alberto Brizuela.
