This Privacy Policy explains how ArisWallpaper ("ArisWallpaper", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the ArisWallpaper mobile application (the "App" or "Services").
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to ArisWallpaper and its features, including wallpaper browsing, wallpaper preview, static and dynamic wallpaper setting, likes, collections, downloads, popular wallpapers, private local wallpaper downloads, launcher home screen features, and related app functions.
ArisWallpaper is designed to provide a wallpaper-centered launcher experience. Some features work locally on your device, while wallpaper content and public wallpaper statistics are loaded from our backend services.
Information We Collect or Access
Information you provide
- Contact information, such as your email address, if you contact us for support, feedback, or privacy requests.
- Any information you voluntarily include in messages sent to us.
Wallpaper and app usage information
When you use wallpaper features, the App may process information needed to provide the service, such as wallpaper category, wallpaper ID, media type, thumbnail URL, image URL, video URL, like status, collection status, download status, local download path, and public like/download counts.
Likes, collections, and downloaded states are stored locally on your device. Like and download actions may also call our backend to update public wallpaper statistics, such as total likes or total downloads for a wallpaper. These statistics are not tied to a login account.
Device and technical information
The App may process basic technical information needed to operate and maintain the service, such as device model, Android version, app version, language, network request information, diagnostics, and error information. Our backend service or hosting providers may also receive standard server log information, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, and user-agent information.
Launcher and installed app information
If you use ArisWallpaper as your default launcher, the App may access installed app information available through Android launcher APIs, such as app names, package names, launcher activities, icons, and shortcut/widget information. This information is used to display and manage your home screen, app drawer, shortcuts, widgets, and launcher interactions.
ArisWallpaper does not upload your installed app list to our backend for wallpaper browsing. Installed app information is used locally for launcher functionality.
Wallpaper downloads and local files
When you download a wallpaper, the App saves the wallpaper resource inside the App's private storage. Downloaded wallpapers are not automatically saved to your system gallery. App-private downloaded files may remain on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the App, or until Android removes app data.
Dynamic wallpaper and media information
For dynamic wallpapers, the App may load video wallpaper resources and preview media from remote URLs. Video previews and dynamic wallpaper playback are used to display and apply wallpaper content. The App does not access your personal videos for these features.
Permissions We Request
Depending on your Android version and the features you use, ArisWallpaper may request or rely on the following permissions or system access:
- Internet access: to load wallpaper categories, wallpaper images, video resources, GIF previews, and public wallpaper statistics.
- Set wallpaper access: to apply static wallpapers and support wallpaper setting features.
- Live wallpaper service access: to support dynamic video wallpaper functionality through Android's live wallpaper system.
- Package visibility or launcher app access: to display installed apps, shortcuts, widgets, and launcher home screen content.
- Delete package request access: to support launcher uninstall-related actions when you choose to remove an app through launcher controls.
- Default Home app role/settings: to let you set ArisWallpaper as your default launcher if you choose to use the launcher experience.
You can grant, deny, or revoke permissions in Android system settings. Some features may not work without the related permission.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve ArisWallpaper and its wallpaper and launcher features.
- Load wallpaper categories, wallpaper lists, thumbnails, image resources, video resources, and popular wallpaper data.
- Let you preview, like, collect, download, and set wallpapers.
- Store local states such as liked, collected, and downloaded wallpapers on your device.
- Update public wallpaper statistics, such as total likes and downloads.
- Display and manage launcher home screen content, app drawer content, shortcuts, and widgets.
- Maintain app reliability, debug issues, improve performance, and prevent abuse or technical problems.
- Respond to support requests and privacy requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
Local Processing
ArisWallpaper stores likes, collections, download states, wallpaper snapshots, selected settings, and downloaded wallpaper files locally on your device. Launcher app information is used locally to display your home screen and app drawer.
You can clear local app data through Android settings or uninstall the App to remove locally stored app data.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, installed app list, or local wallpaper data.
We may share information only in limited situations:
- With service providers that help us host, deliver, secure, maintain, or support the App and wallpaper services, such as backend hosting, cloud storage, content delivery networks, or technical infrastructure providers.
- With legal authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your information.
Third-Party Services
The App may use Android system services, device launcher APIs, live wallpaper APIs, and app store services provided by your device or app store environment. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Wallpaper images, videos, thumbnails, GIF previews, and backend APIs may be delivered through cloud storage, content delivery networks, or hosting providers. These providers may process standard technical request information to deliver content and maintain security.
The App may also contain links or actions that open Android system settings, default launcher settings, app stores, or other third-party services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party services.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Local app data, including liked wallpapers, collected wallpapers, downloaded wallpaper states, wallpaper snapshots, settings, and private downloaded files, may remain on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the App, or delete data through Android settings.
Server logs and public wallpaper statistics may be retained for service operation, security, analytics of service health, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children's Privacy
ArisWallpaper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or a higher age where required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
International Data Transfers
If you contact us or if information is processed by service providers, information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent.
You can manage many choices directly on your device:
- Android permissions: Settings > Apps > ArisWallpaper > Permissions.
- Default Home app: Android Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Home App.
- App data deletion: Android Settings > Apps > ArisWallpaper > Storage > Clear data, or uninstall the App.
- Local downloads: clearing app data or uninstalling the App removes app-private downloaded wallpaper files.
