Arin M. Avsar
PhD student at the Department of Planetary Sciences and Lunar and Planetary Laboratory

University of Arizona

I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was raised in Thousand Oaks, California. I received my Bachelor's degree in Astrophysics and Planetary Science from UC Berkeley in 2022. There I worked as a Data Analyst in the Exoplanet Transit Group at Unistellar and conducted research on debris disks with Dr. Tom Esposito, Dr. Paul Kalas, and Dr. Gaspard Duchene.

I am currently a second year PhD student at the University of Arizona, advised by Dr. Dániel Apai and Dr. Kevin Wagner. My current work focuses on using the Hubble Space Telescope to characterize debris disks in scattered light to understand collisional processes between planetesimals.
