How to install mmCM?
To install mmCM on your PS3, you will need a few things:
A PS3 console that is jailbroken or running a custom firmware (CFW) that supports Cobra features. You can check your PS3 model and firmware version in the System Settings menu.
A USB flash drive or an external hard drive formatted to FAT32.
The latest version of mmCM, which you can download from the official website or from various PS3 forums. The file name should be something like "mmCM ver 04.02.00 BASE 20120228 .rar", where the numbers indicate the version and the date of release.
Once you have everything ready, follow these steps:
Extract the mmCM file using a program like WinRAR or 7-Zip. You should get a folder named "mmCM" that contains several files and subfolders.
Copy the "mmCM" folder to the root of your USB flash drive or external hard drive. The root means the main directory, not inside any other folder.
Eject your USB flash drive or external hard drive from your computer and plug it into your PS3.
Turn on your PS3 and go to the Game menu. You should see an icon named "Install Package Files". Select it and press X.
You should see a list of files that are available for installation. Look for the file named "mmCM ver 04.02.00 BASE 20120228.pkg" and select it. Press X to start the installation.
Wait for the installation to finish. You should see a message saying "Install completed". Press O to go back to the Game menu.
You should now see an icon named "mmCM" in the Game menu. Select it and press X to launch mmCM.
How to use mmCM?
After launching mmCM, you will see the main interface, which consists of four columns: Mode, Game, Options, and Exit. You can use the left and right directional buttons on your controller to switch between them. Here is a brief overview of each column:
Mode: This column allows you to choose between different modes of operation, such as File Manager, Retro, Video, Music, Photo, Web Browser, etc. Each mode has its own functions and features that you can explore by pressing X.
Game: This column shows you all the games that are available on your PS3 internal hard drive or on your USB flash drive or external hard drive. You can use the up and down directional buttons to scroll through them. To play a game, simply select it and press X. To backup a game from a disc, insert the disc into your PS3 and press Triangle. A menu will pop up with various options, such as Copy, Delete, Rename, etc. Select Copy and choose a destination for your backup.
Options: This column gives you access to various settings and tools that you can use to customize your mmCM experience. For example, you can change the theme, language, fan speed, network settings, etc.
Exit: This column allows you to exit mmCM and return to the XMB (XrossMediaBar), which is the default PS3 menu.
