I am a Lecturer of Political Science at Baylor University

My fields of study are American political development, American political institutions American political thought, state politics, political parties, and legislatures. My primary research agenda centers around the development of political parties and elections during the American early republic. I use research on American political thought, specifically on representation, to better understand these institutions and others. My research agenda influences my teaching. I teach courses in American government and politics including topics such as the development and interpretation of the US Constitution, the American Congress, state and local politics, and political parties. I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO as a Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy Graduate Fellow. I earned my BS in Social Sciences Education and Political Science from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, MO.
