My research is driven by curiosity about how microorganisms survive, adapt, and evolve in diverse environments. By integrating microbiology, enzymology, structural biology, and metabolic engineering, I seek to uncover fundamental biological principles and translate them into sustainable biotechnological applications.
Understanding how microorganisms adapt and thrive in extreme environments.
I study thermoacidophilic archaea to uncover mechanisms underlying carbohydrate utilization, environmental adaptation, and nutrient acquisition. My current interests include nutrient acquisition systems and substrate recognition mechanisms that govern carbon uptake in Sulfolobales.
Deciphering how enzyme structure shapes substrate recognition and product formation.
My research focuses on understanding how enzyme structure determines substrate recognition, catalytic activity, and product formation. Through biochemical and structural approaches, I seek to uncover the principles governing enzyme function and evolution.

My research focuses on developing non-conventional microorganisms as industrial platforms through synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. I am particularly interested in integrating renewable biomass utilization and natural product biosynthesis to establish efficient and sustainable microbial production platforms. .
