Established in September 2019, Arete Quartet unanimously passed the audition of Kumho Art Hall Young Chamber Concert, and debuted in Kumho Art Hall Yonsei in the following September. The live performance was exclusively introduced to Korea Broadcasting Service, Korea's biggest broadcasting institution.
Arete Quartet won the first place in the 72nd Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2021, and won other 5 special awards including Bohuslave Martinu Foundation award.
Arete Quartet also received special awards at the Paolo Borciani Competition and the ARD competition.
The Arete Quartet was invited to the Spring Festival in Prague in 2022 and successfully completed the recital, and has been invited to many festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Trebonska Music Festival, and the Ravenna Festival.
The quartet members are currently studying at Fiesole Music school and Hochschule fur Music und Theater with scholarships from Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V.

Arete Quartet is learning from Professor Christoph Poppen, Kim Jae-young from Novus Quartet, Quatur Ebéne, Quarteto Casals and Eberhard Feltz.
