"So, let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."

2 Corinthians 9:7

Dearly Beloved Parishioners,

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

The last year and a half have been difficult and challenging for our beloved Syriac Orthodox community as the world struggled with the COVID-19 pandemic. We have experienced hardship, sadness, and loss of our loved ones who perished, but throughout our challenges, we gain strength and hope through our faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On a second note, we are beginning to resume our normal daily lives. Remarkably, we have seen increased attendance in our churches, and our Sunday School, Bible Studies, and youth activities have also resumed in person. In the summer of 2021, the Suryoyo Summer Camp also held abbreviated sessions at the MAC for children ages 5 – 13 years. Our gymnasium/social hall was also completed with a sound-insulated building, new ceiling decor, lighting system, and is ready for you to enjoy. We are happy to announce that in September 2021, we were able to open God’s Children Academy Pre-school at the Mor Aphrem Center. It was completed and in full operation and full compliance with all state and local authorities with a state-of-the-art facility and professional staff.

Our Archdiocese continues to provide a bundle of spiritual related services both in person as well as virtual to fulfill and satisfy the needs of our beloved parishioners. Some of the activities offered include:

  • Daily Evening Prayers

  • Sunday Holy Liturgy

  • Suryoyo Summer Camp

  • Spiritual Activities

  • Lectures

  • Bible Studies in Multiple Languages

  • Virtual Holy Family Gatherings

  • In-Person Sunday School Teacher's Retreat

  • Continued Sponsorship for the Education of our Clergy

  • Financial Aid Abroad

Through your gift to the Annual Appeal, you help the Archdiocese with the financial support needed to provide the various spiritual, social, and educational activities to all parishioners. This year, we would like every one of you to be part of this support system that enables the Archdiocese to thrive. With approximately 3000 families across the Archdiocese, a contribution of $100 per family (yearly) would help us accomplish so much. If you are unable to contribute this amount we will gladly accept any amount you are able to give. No amount is too small or too great and our goal is for each of you to experience the joy of giving.

"For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have."

2 Corinthians 8:12

May God accept your offering and shower you with His blessings always.

Yours in Christ,

♰ Dionysius John Kawak

Archbishop, Patriarchal Vicar
