I downloaded a software from filecr. I opened the application and it was working fine, then I saw a zip folder named KEYGEN in the main folder, I thought maybe it generates some keys for the application, it didn't occur to me that the application was working just fine and didn't ask for some license key and still I extracted that file, now the moment I extracted it my antivirus detected the keygen.exe as a trojan and deleted it. Now I pirate a lot of softwares and lots of cracks and stuff are considered as trojans by antiviruses so I ignore the warning and restore the file. I then open the keygen file and then a box appeared with music going on in the background and my name is in one of the field and something else in the other, I just ignore that probably thinking it got it from my username or something and then see there is no option to actually generate any keys so I just close the application and think I should delete this as its useless. I click on delete, it asks for administrator permission for some reason, I grant it and then it says you require permission from "insert my username and laptop model number" to delete this file and just a try again option, I'm like ??? I repeatedly try to delete it to no success, then I try the shredding tool feature of advanced system care and then bit defender too and both say failed to delete the file. I'm again like ??why??? Then I go into the .exe's properties and try to revoke some of its permissions and stuff and it won't let me do that either and then suddenly out of nowhere I think the malware got activated and my antivirus went crazy and started displaying some statsitics and stuff saying your device was in danger and we stopped the malware attack. I was glad it stopped it so I think to myself then the antivirus must have deleted the .exe too and then i go check to see if the .exe is deleted but its STILL there, I again try to delete it but fail. I almost gave up. I was just checking some option after right clicking the .exe when I saw "scan with bitdefender" option, I click it and then bitdefender scans it and recognizes it as malware and then finally gives me an option to delete the file. Man I clicked the delete option and it finally got deleted. I was so relieved.
