When the future of the Arcanum Opera House was in question, members of the community knew something needed to be done.  The formation of the Arcanum Preservation Society, a 501(c)3 Nonprofit, in 2019 allows the community to take an active role in returning the Opera House and other buildings in Arcanum to their full potential and usefulness. Our old buildings give us a sense of place and should be a source of pride. We lose a bit of ourselves, as well as our communities and local history with the loss of each building. Preservation is important to saving our community and making it better as well as keeping our roots. We are enthusiastic about restoring and sharing the story of Arcanum’s Opera House. With a little hard work and dedication, you can save anything worth saving, and our history and heritage should be right at the top of the list.
