Abstract

This publication constitutes criteria and guidelines regarding design of wastewater collection networks. Although construction, implementation, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of sewer networks are not covered herein, main prerequisites which must be considered in the design stage to facilitate these activities are fully considered in all parts. It goes without saying that detailed standards are not completely covered in this publication, but some mandatory details which are of great importance have been provided in some sections. Main objective of this standard is to create a unified framework and criteria for selection of network type and designing different parts of a wastewater collection network. Based on guidelines of this publication, design of sewer networks shall be performed in a manner that besides increasing level of public health and safety, environmental concerns will be fully noted. Furthermore, by utilizing these guidelines, performance criteria of the network, as well as principles of sustainable development and occupational health and safety shall be met.
