From the Delta County Independent:
Rhoda Reann Ziegler passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021. She was 69 years old. Born Rhoda Paschall on June 21, 1951 in Washington, Iowa to Elsie (Warning) and Orvil Paschall, Rhoda was the fourth child in the family of eight children.
Rhoda grew up in Michigan and in Littleton, Colorado. She sang beautifully from the time she was a little girl, and after graduating from Arapahoe High School in Littleton she attended Azusa Pacific University in California on a music scholarship. She enjoyed music throughout her life and would sing while in the car, the home or on walks. She married Larry Ziegler in the chapel in Vail, Colorado, and together they raised three children, one boy and two girls. Rhoda worked as an elementary education teacher, including special education. She kept in touch with some of her grade school students from as far back as 1980, enjoying their cards and letters as her former students went on with their lives.
After moving to Cedaredge in 1993, Rhoda began her second career as a registered nurse. She was a dynamic and caring mother, grandmother and nurse who valued family vacations including trips to ocean beaches. Rhoda's retirement meant volunteer activities, sports, gardening, travel and enjoying each day to the fullest. She was a member of the Coalby Birthday Club, Friends of Cedaredge Animal Shelter, Cedaredge Women's Literary Club, Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, the Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center, a book club, a sewing club, and she was an avid pickleball player.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband and her three children, Jeremy, Jodi (Antonio) Ziegler Durante and Jéssica (Aaron) Aneloski, as well as three grandchildren, Giancarlo, Brianna and Gabriel.
Rhoda's celebration of life will be held in June in the family home. In lieu of flowers please consider making a contribution to HopeWest, a nonprofit organization, P. O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416, or to the charity of your choice.
One of my best friends...larger than life and so dynamic and giving...Much love to all who knew her.
