Karen George died August 30, 1997 in a spelunking accident in Stephen's Gap, Woodville, AL.
Karen and I were together for 25 years, married for 24. She loved life, and loved adventure. She loved our two children and primarily raised them while I was travelling the country for work. She was a gourmet cook, a photographer, a spelunker, a motorcyclist, an artist, an ardent supporter of women''s rights, and a leader. Her photos were published in a national spelunking magazine. She was an active member of Mensa in Georgia, and became our chapter President, a title she held at the time of her death. Her love of adventure took her onto a caving trip in Northeaster Alabama, where she died after falling about a hundred feet to the bottom of the pit. The world is a better place for her having been in it, and her passing left a huge void for Sunny, Kyri, and me, as well as her parents, sister, and friends.
Thank you for helping me to remember her.
