Including Via Ferrata is a mobility project of staff in the field of Sport, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

In a novel initiative of the Erasmus+ Programme, namely the mobility of staff in the field of SPORT, our organisation embarked on a mission to empower six dedicated team members and volunteers with the clear goal: proficiently apply our French partner's (ASCU) approach, methodology, and procedures to organize Via Ferrata activities tailored to our local community.

Through focused training, these individuals not only honed their skills but also contributed to the ongoing development of ARAO's grassroots sports field. The emphasis was on conducting high-quality, eco-friendly grassroots sports activities—specifically, Via Ferrata. The objective was to foster inclusivity and diversity among participants, ensuring a positive impact on both the environment and the community.

This journey didn't stop there. ARAO, recognizing the importance of collaboration, worked to strengthen ties with ASCU and other grassroots organizations. The collaborative effort aimed at fostering the exchange of expertise and cooperation. As a result, ARAO increased its capacity to promote European values, including environmental protection and the principles of inclusion and diversity.

The job-shadowing experience for ARAO's members and volunteers proved exceptionally valuable for our initiatives. It provided insights into innovative approaches for expanding Via Ferrata activities within our local community, fostering a more open and inclusive environment. The knowledge gained during this experience has greatly enhanced our ability to engage the community and make our activities more accessible to all.

Activities

Preparatory Visit

Between the 17th and 19th of September 2023, 2 members of ARAO attended a preparatory visit to ASCU's headquarters. Throughout this visit, our team worked closely with our partner's staff to plan the thematic and logistical aspects of the Job Shadowing. Moreover, we delved into the upcoming mobility activities, ensuring their meaningfulness and relevance for a satisfying learning experience. Our discussions also involved establishing the logistical framework and devising a comprehensive plan to equip the six participants thematically and logistically for the upcoming mobility.  Read more ..

Job Shadowing

For a span of two weeks, from 3rd to 17th October 2023, five members of our organization undertook an enriching experience in Grenoble, France. During this time, they actively participated in and closely observed the Via Ferrata activities organized by the hosting partner, ASCU. The activities encompassed transfers to various Via Ferrata points and sites, providing participants with valuable exposure to our partner's facilities and methodologies. This hands-on experience offered insights into adapting and integrating these practices into our local context.  Read more ..

Local Events

Upon their return, the five staff members of ARAO committed time to a crucial task — adapting and integrating the new methodologies and approaches discovered during the Job Shadowing into the regular work of our organization. To facilitate this integration, they organized demonstrative Via Ferrata workshops, showcasing the acquired know-how to their peers and local practitioners. This initiative aims to share and disseminate the valuable insights gained during their experience.  Read more ..
