If you want a smooth, controlled tailgate drop that protects your paint and fingers on your daily hauls or weekend hunting trips, choose ARANA Tailgate Assist Soft; if you need to rebuild the structural integrity of an older truck bed by replacing rusted bolts with heavy-duty steel hardware, choose AINARETT Truck Bed Mount. These two products serve fundamentally different mechanical purposes, and confusing one for the other will lead to frustration at the installation site. One is a convenience upgrade designed to soften a closing motion, while the other is a critical safety component designed to hold the entire cargo box to the frame.
• ARANA Tailgate Assist Soft: Its biggest strength is providing a precise, linear slow-down mechanism that prevents the tailgate from slamming shut, making it safer for loading gear; its trade-off is that it is strictly limited to the 2019–2025 Ford Ranger platform and requires removing the bottle opener during install.
• AINARETT Truck Bed Mount: Its biggest strength is restoring factory-level stability to trucks with corroded mounting points using high-grade steel bolts and washers; its trade-off is that it serves no cosmetic function and is only compatible with 1997–2014 Ford F-150 and specific Lincoln Mark LT models.
• Best for: The ARANA pick is for owners of newer Rangers who want modern conveniences without drilling holes in their truck, while the AINARETT pick is for owners of older F-150s dealing with bed shake or loose frames.
The ARANA Tailgate Assist Soft is engineered specifically for the Ford Ranger 2019 through 2025 models. It addresses a common frustration with modern pickup trucks: the heavy, uncontrolled slam of the tailgate. This unit functions as a dampener shock absorber, mounted directly to the tailgate hinge area. By utilizing a strong damper mod, it forces the tailgate to drop at a linear rate rather than free-falling under gravity. This design choice makes opening and closing the gate significantly safer, particularly when your hands are full or when you are trying to avoid pinching fingers or damaging the vehicle's finish.
What stands out most about this product is its commitment to preserving the factory look and feel. The molding is precise, meaning it fits the specific contours of the Ranger tailgate perfectly. It mounts using existing OEM bolts, which means there is absolutely no need for drilling into the body panels. For anyone worried about voiding warranties or leaving unsightly drill marks on a new truck, this non-invasive approach is a major selling point. The package includes all necessary tools for a quick setup, promising a ten-minute installation process. However, buyers should be aware that the driver's side bottle opener must be removed to make room for the hardware, a small but necessary step in the procedure.

This product is ideal for the owner of a 2019–2025 Ford Ranger who uses their truck for regular utility work, including hunting trips where gear needs to be loaded and unloaded frequently. If you value a quiet, gentle closure that protects your investment and adds a layer of ease to your daily routine, this is the solution. Conversely, if you drive an F-150, a Chevy, or a Ram, this part will not fit your vehicle at all. It is also not suitable for those looking to reinforce the structural connection between the bed and the frame; it does nothing to stop the bed from shaking or rattling on rough roads.
The AINARETT Truck Bed Mount Hardware Kit is a utilitarian solution for a very specific problem: a loose or rattling truck bed. Designed for the 1997–2014 Ford F-150, 1997–1999 Ford F-250, and 2006–2008 Lincoln Mark LT, this kit replaces the original mounting hardware that often fails over time due to road salt, moisture, and vibration. The kit contains six sets of premium heavy-duty steel construction components, including bolts, nuts, and washers. These parts are precision-machined to meet OEM standards, ensuring they match the exact dimensions required for a secure fit.
Durability is the core focus here. The steel used features a rust-resistant coating and delivers exceptional tensile strength, far exceeding what you might expect from standard replacement bolts found at a generic auto parts store. When old hardware corrodes, the truck bed can develop a dangerous rattle or even shift slightly during acceleration and braking. This kit tightens the connection between the bed and the frame, effectively eliminating abnormal noise and maintaining stable long-term use under various road conditions. It is a direct-fit design, meaning you do not need to modify the bed or use special tools to get it installed.
This product is essential for owners of older Ford trucks who have noticed their bed moving independently of the chassis. If you hear clunking sounds when driving over bumps or feel a shift in the rear of the truck, the mounting bolts are likely the culprit. This kit is not a cosmetic upgrade; it will not change how the tailgate closes or add any visual flair to the exterior. It is purely functional. It is perfect for the DIY mechanic who wants to restore their truck to a safe, solid state without buying a new vehicle. However, it offers no benefit to newer truck models or owners of trucks that already have a solid, rattle-free bed connection.
• Best for tailgate control → ARANA Tailgate Assist Soft, as it actively manages the speed of the gate's descent.
• Best for structural stability → AINARETT Truck Bed Mount, as it physically secures the bed to the frame with high-tensile steel.
• Best for paint protection → ARANA Tailgate Assist Soft, because it prevents the metal-on-metal impact of a slamming tailgate.
• Best for rust prevention → AINARETT Truck Bed Mount, since it replaces corroded fasteners with rust-resistant coatings.
• Installation complexity → Both claim a DIY-friendly approach, but ARANA requires removing a bottle opener, while AINARETT requires lifting the bed slightly to access mounting points.
• Vehicle compatibility → ARANA is exclusive to the 2019–2025 Ford Ranger; AINARETT covers 1997–2014 F-150, 1997–1999 F-250, and 2006–2008 Lincoln Mark LT.
• Primary outcome → ARANA improves the user experience of loading/unloading; AINARETT improves the safety and ride quality of the vehicle.
• Maintenance need → ARANA is a one-time add-on for convenience; AINARETT is a corrective measure for worn-out factory parts.
In my opinion, the right choice depends entirely on the year and model of your truck, as these items solve completely different problems. If you own a 2019–2025 Ford Ranger and want to stop the tailgate from slamming every time you load your hunting gear, the ARANA Tailgate Assist Soft is the clear winner. It adds a layer of sophistication and safety to the truck that feels like a factory upgrade without the risk of drilling. However, if you are driving an older F-150 and the bed is rattling or feeling loose, you simply cannot buy the ARANA unit; you must reach for the AINARETT Truck Bed Mount to ensure your truck remains safe and stable on the road. I would personally buy the ARANA for my Ranger because the improvement in daily usability is immediate and noticeable, whereas the AINARETT is a repair job best tackled only when symptoms appear.
