We are so appreciative of the amazing poems submitted- we received over 600! Congratulations to Lynda R Myers, whose poem "What Comforts in Your Absence" won the inaugural AR Ammons Prize. Finalist Judge Paul Jones writes : "..this poem takes Ted Kooser’s Mother as an entry point and channel for the voice’s own loss. By the end, even while tracking Kooser very loosely the final lines take us to another place. A place of comfort, if less complicated than Kooser, “I can never feel orphaned.”
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a cash prize. All will receive a print copy of the anthology in late April.
