Campaign Assistant/Canvasser (2)
Description
Reporting to the Campaign Manager, the campaign assistant/canvasser will implement on-the ground outreach efforts in support of the Aracely4Neabsco campaign. S/he will work independently to canvass neighborhoods in 11 precincts and distribute candidate information in the Neabsco District.
Duties and Responsibilities
The campaign assistant will:
Identify locations and events to conduct canvassing for the Aracely4Neabsco Campaign;
Distribute promotional campaign material to the public;
Collect signatures for the Aracely4Neabsco campaign using materials provided
Submit collected information along with original documents to Campaign Manager
Submit questions from the public about the campaign to Campaign Manager for response
Track canvassing history, including locations, events, materials distributed, and signatures collected.
Qualifications
Must adhere to progressive democratic values
Excellent interpersonal skills
Comfortable speaking to others about issues and requesting support
Ability to work independently
Outgoing, enthusiastic and enjoys meeting new people
Bilingual, English/Spanish desired

Time Period
Ongoing commitment needed. Flexible schedule dependent on individual(s) availability, which can include work during regular business hours, evenings or weekends. The campaign assistant must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week starting immediately, working through the the June 11 Primary and the November 5 General Election.

Volunteers are highly valued members of the team and contribute to making the Aracely4Neabsco campaign a success. Aracely4Neabsco will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement.
About the Aracely4Neabsco Campaign
Aracely4Neabsco is a local election campaign located in the Neabsco Magisterial District of Prince William County. The candidate is a Salvadoran-American woman, was a single mom, is a grandmother of two girls, has been a long-term Prince William County resident, seeking to represent the diverse Neabsco communities in the County Board of Supervisors. Neabsco is a tightly compact district, located in eastern Prince William County. The district has 11 precincts.
