Information for Troops

Aqua Camp is a County event open to all Scout Troops in Oxfordshire providing beginners and the more experienced Scouts with the opportunity to:

  • Take part in a wide range of water activities, which they may not otherwise have access to

  • Experience a large Scout section event, with the chance to meet hundreds of other Scouts

  • Enjoy a weekend camping with their Troop, that contributes towards their own badge work

As you have come to expect, there will be kayaking, open canoes, raft building, sailing, gig pulling and dragon boating, alongside some additional land activities and, of course, evening entertainment too.

New Location

Aqua camp will be held at Bishops Court Farm in Dorchester. We have access to both a lake and the River Thames, and water activities will be split between these locations.

The charges are £60 per Scout and £15 per leader/adult (to cover camp fees). In addition, Troops will need to buy and cook their own food for the entire weekend and arrange for their own transport. The site has a minimum carbon policy so there will be very limited vehicle access to site.

The event is open to all Scouts, although places are limited and we will allocate spaces on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis on receipt of a valid application.

  • Booking Applications are available now

  • Completed Bookings will only be accepted from 7th March

  • The closing date for all initial applications is Monday 14th March . . .

  • . . . and Confirmation of Places will be no later than Monday 21st March.

  • A deposit of £10 per person attending will be required by 28th March

The full and final payment will be due by 7th May

Payments are generally non-refundable. Should we need to cancel the event we would return any uncommitted or unspent amounts at the discretion of the County Trustees, once all costs and expenses were known.

Please note that while very similar in many respects to previous years, there are a number of notable changes including the provision of support staff which forms a condition of a valid application to attend.
