If you want a compact, sleep-friendly fit for resting on an airplane, choose APZXTRK Mini Sleep Earbuds; if you need an open-ear design with longer stated playback and awareness of your surroundings, choose SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones. The main difference is simple: APZXTRK is shaped for a low-profile in-ear fit, while SARUNN ER rests in an open-ear style with adjustable ear angles and memory earhooks.
APZXTRK Mini Sleep Earbuds vs SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones at a Glance
• SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones: Open-ear listening, adjustable angles, and memory earhooks suit active wear; the trade-off is that the open design does not aim to block surrounding sound.
• APZXTRK adds Bluetooth 5.4, touch controls, and a case with a digital power display. Its fit is more suitable for someone who wants a small earbud sitting in the ear.
• SARUNN ER offers up to 10 hours of playback per charge, an LED case display, and an IP55 rating for sweat and rain. Its earhooks make it a more noticeable, around-the-ear style.
• Choose APZXTRK for low-profile listening while resting or sleeping; choose SARUNN ER for exercise, commuting, or situations where hearing the environment matters.
APZXTRK is the more sleep-oriented option. Each earbud weighs 2 grams, and the half in-ear shape is described as compact and intended to be comfortable for side sleeping. That design focus matters on an airplane, where a passenger might want to listen while reclining or trying to rest against a seat. It is still an in-ear product, not an open-ear headset, so its fit sits closer to the ear canal than SARUNN ER’s.
The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.4 and have a stated wireless range of up to 33 feet. Touch controls handle music and calls, while the case’s digital display provides a quick way to check remaining power. Playback is listed at up to 6 hours per charge, with the case extending total playback beyond 30 hours. The single-charge figure is the more useful one for planning a long stretch of listening: the case can provide additional power, but that means taking it out and charging between sessions.
This is a good fit for someone who prioritizes a small, lightweight shape and expects to listen while resting, commuting, or working quietly. The passive noise-blocking fit may also suit a listener who prefers some reduction in ambient sound. It is not active noise cancellation, so I would not treat it as a way to eliminate cabin noise on an airplane. The touch controls may appeal to anyone looking for a touch control wireless headset for airplane use, though the product information does not specify every control gesture.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.

Who should skip it: Skip APZXTRK if you want an open-ear fit, a stated IP55 rating, or more than 6 hours of playback from one charge.
SARUNN ER takes a different approach: the earbuds sit in an open-ear design and use lightweight memory earhooks. The angle can be adjusted to suit the wearer, and the stated design is intended to remain comfortable during longer wear, including for people who wear glasses. For an airplane traveler who wants to keep more awareness of nearby sounds, that open construction is a meaningful distinction from APZXTRK’s in-ear fit.
The listed battery life is up to 10 hours per charge, with up to 40 hours when the charging case is included. The case has an LED display for checking power and charging status. SARUNN ER also lists a five-minute charging time, but the provided information does not clarify how much playback that brief charge supplies. It is reasonable to note the short listed charge time, but not to assume it gives a particular number of listening hours.
For exercise and outdoor routines, the IP55 rating is a practical feature: the earbuds are described as able to withstand sweat and rain. Bluetooth 5.3 supports wireless connection, and touch controls are intended for tasks such as changing tracks and adjusting settings. The product information also lists environmental noise cancellation, but the open-ear design means it is not presented as a sealed, sound-isolating option. The 16.2 10.4mm driver specification appears in the product description; rather than treating that figure as a guarantee of sound quality, I’d focus on the use case and fit.
Who should skip it: Skip SARUNN ER if your priority is a tiny, low-profile earbud for side sleeping or a more enclosed fit to reduce ambient sound.
• Best for side sleeping or resting against a seat → APZXTRK Mini Sleep Earbuds. Its half in-ear shape and 2-gram weight per earbud are the clearest fit-related advantages for someone trying to settle in.
• Best for longer listening between charges → SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones. The stated figures are up to 10 hours per charge, compared with up to 6 hours for APZXTRK.
• Best for keeping environmental awareness → SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones. The open-ear design lets surrounding sound remain part of the listening experience.
• Best for a low-profile fit → APZXTRK Mini Sleep Earbuds. Its compact half in-ear construction is designed to sit more discreetly than a model with memory earhooks.
• Best for sweat and rain exposure → SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones. Its IP55 rating makes it the more suitable choice for workouts or wet-weather routines.
• Best for Bluetooth version → APZXTRK Mini Sleep Earbuds. It lists Bluetooth 5.4, while SARUNN ER lists Bluetooth 5.3. That difference alone does not establish which will work better with a particular phone.
• Best for a fast charging option → SARUNN ER Open Ear Headphones. A five-minute charge time is listed, although the resulting playback time is not specified. This is the relevant distinction for someone searching for fast charging on ear headphones for airplane use.
• Best voice assistant headphone for airplane use → neither can be confirmed from the supplied features. Both have touch controls, but neither product’s information specifies voice-assistant support. I would not choose either on that feature without checking the product details first.
Buying Considerations
Next, compare the listening stretches you expect to have. APZXTRK lists up to 6 hours on a charge, while SARUNN ER lists up to 10. Both include a case with a battery display, and both provide a way to check remaining power. If you tend to listen in shorter periods and value a compact fit, APZXTRK’s battery figure may be enough. If you prefer fewer charging breaks, SARUNN ER has the stronger stated per-charge runtime.
Fit is personal, but the designs point to different priorities. APZXTRK is shaped around small, lightweight in-ear buds, with side sleeping explicitly part of its intended use. SARUNN ER uses adjustable open-ear angles and memory earhooks, a configuration aimed at a secure fit during activity. Neither design should be assumed to suit every ear simply from the specifications. If you wear glasses, SARUNN ER’s product information specifically says its earhook design is intended to accommodate them.
Finally, consider the features that are actually documented. Both products have touch controls and a case display. SARUNN ER adds an IP55 rating and a five-minute charge-time specification; APZXTRK lists Bluetooth 5.4 and a 33-foot wireless range. Neither sheet provides a specific voice-assistant feature, and the SARUNN ER charging information does not say how much playback five minutes of charging provides. Those gaps matter if either detail is central to your purchase.
I’d choose APZXTRK Mini Sleep Earbuds for airplane trips when my priority is a small fit that is designed for resting or side sleeping. Its 2-gram weight per earbud and half in-ear shape make that use case more convincing to me than an open-ear hook design.
I’d choose SARUNN ER instead for longer stated playback, workouts, or listening while staying aware of nearby sounds. For the specific goal of airplane rest, though, APZXTRK is my recommendation.
They make more sense if you want a compact, sleep-oriented in-ear design and passive noise blocking. They are not specified as active noise-cancelling earbuds, so do not expect them to remove cabin noise.
The listed playback time is up to 10 hours per charge, compared with up to 6 hours for APZXTRK. Actual listening time can vary, and the provided information does not give conditions for those figures.
SARUNN ER lists an IP55 rating and is described as able to withstand sweat and rain. That makes it the more clearly specified option for exercise and wet conditions; APZXTRK’s information does not list an IP rating.
The available product details do not specify voice-assistant support for either model. Both list touch controls, but that alone does not confirm that a voice assistant can be activated.
