Government Resources:

Department of Labor

The U.S. Department of Labor has resources to help workers and employers prepare for the COVID-19 virus.

Included on the landing page that might be beneficial to APTech members:

· Workplace Safety (OSHA Guidance on Preparing the Workplace for COVID-19)

· Wages, Hours and Leave (The Wage and Hour Division is providing information on common issues employers and workers face when responding to COVID-19, including the effects on wages and hours work under the Fair Labor Standards Act and job-protected leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act.

· Unemployment Insurance Flexibilities. (Note: Check with your state’s unemployment insurance program regarding the rules in your state). The Employment and Training Administration announced new guidance outlining state flexibilities in administering their unemployment insurance programs to assist Americans affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Also included is a link that provides instructions on how to file for unemployment insurance benefits.

· Support for Dislocated Workers and States. There is availability of $100 million in the National Health Emergency Dislocated Worker Grants to help states, territories, and tribal governments respond to the workforce-related impacts of COVID-19.

· News links for up-to-date news releases.

· General Resources. Links to the White House COVID-19 task force, CDC, and US Government response to COVID-19.

DOL – Families First Corona Virus Response Act – Employer Paid Leave Requirements. This page details the requirements certain employers provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave related to COVID-19. Provided here are the definition of covered employers, types of leave, and qualifying reasons for leave.

· NAM’s daily update on a local (state, county, city) basis regarding essential vs. non-essential businesses. As more cities, states, and counties issue and revise emergency orders to stop the spread of COVID-19, the National Association of Manufacturers is working to help manufacturers nationwide assess and understand the implications of these orders and emphasize the essential.
