Apple Valley Rebels’ Scholarship Application 

Purpose
The Apple Valley Rebels Football & Cheer Scholarship Program will award annual scholarships to college-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic and athletic achievement, and an express interest in pursuing their education after high school. 

Criteria 

Any football player or cheerleader who played football or cheered for the Apple Valley Rebels for at least one complete season. The applicant must have also completed at least one season as a football player or cheerleader for an Apple Valley Unified School District High School. The applicant must have a cumulative, weighted GPA of 3.5 or above, and must show proof of an acceptance letter from a college or trade school that they have applied for. They must have completed a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer service to the Apple Valley Rebels Football and Cheer program during their senior year of high school.

On a separate sheet(s) of paper, type your responses to the questions. Your responses must be numbered to correspond to the questions. Your name must appear on each sheet.

Questions for Applicants:

Limit your answers to your high school experience only. 

1. Describe your academic, vocational, and/or technical goals. State whether you plan to attend a two or four year college next year, or a technical or vocational school. State your long term goals for your education. 

2. Write an essay about yourself. Please include honors, scholarships, awards, athletics, community service, and/ or other extracurricular activities. (400 words or less, double spaced) 

3. Describe how football or cheerleading has developed you as a person, how these sports will help you succeed in your educational and career goals. (400 words or less, double spaced).

Amount of Scholarship - A total of up to $2,000.00 will be awarded to one to four student/ athletes from an Apple Valley Unified School District High School. A minimum amount of $500 and a maximum amount of $1,000 will be granted to qualified candidates.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Apple Valley Rebels’ Board of Trustees. The Apple Valley Rebels are not responsible for and cannot provide you with financial advice on taxation matters. Scholarships are awarded on the established eligibility criteria, and individual financial circumstances will not be considered. The Apple Valley Rebels’ Scholarship program is subject to change from year to year based on funding levels and organizational priorities.
