The purpose of the app is to increase communication between citizens of a city and between governors with citizens.
When a problem in the city's infrastructure is seen, we must report it so that the government knows what needs to be done to improve the quality of the city, but the current tools and means of communication are not as effective, since the city's problems are notified, but no action is taken. Dedo Duro then comes as a means of communication, thus facilitating the contact between those in power and the population.
The idea of the app is to have three general options: a complaints feed, a map with the problems in pins, and a profile.
These complaints feed would be one page with the various complaints from different people. On these posts, the person who posts can add a photo, location, a title, and a short description of what is being complained about.
This map option, linked to google maps, and in this map, pins with small icons will be representing the problem, and their respective location will appear on the app.
The profile is the tab with your profile, which shows how many complaints you have made in the app, who you are following, who follows you, your information (age, how long you live in the city, and more), and finally, your "title" within the app. This title would serve as a reward after interacting in the app, be it commenting, liking, or posting. The more you interact, the higher your ranking as a collaborative citizen within the app.
What problem is Dedo Duro solving?
The lack and difficulty of communication of the people with the city governors is the app's principal problem. Dedo Duro should facilitate communication and help the city to contact the governors and our citizens who understand their problems, so they can criticize, compliment, and say what can improve in the city.
What's the main target?
The target markets expected of the app are young adults, from about 15 years old to 25 years old.
How the app will make money?
Because the application is still small, charging for download isn’t a good idea (why would people pay for something they don’t even know about yet?) so it's pretended to sell space for advertisements and also add advertisements with Google AdMob, to increase the app's revenue.
Who are the competitors?
All the similar ideas on the market are still just that, ideas. So by investing in our start-up, we could be the first big app to exist. Our difference can be the real existence of the app.
Why should the application be taken to SXSW EDU 2022?
The idea of this app came to us during the 6th grade, in 2017, in our project classes, but we put it aside because we were too young and didn't know very well what and how to do, but after hearing about this opportunity, we decided that we would like to invest in the idea and realize this idea already so old and with so much feeling since we now have more experience and more passion!
SXSW 2019 edition, which gathered approximately 417,400 people.
