# Privacy Policy for AppLock Pro

**Effective Date:** March 29, 2026

Welcome to AppLock Pro ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience when using our mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use AppLock Pro.

By downloading and using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the App.

## 1. Information We Collect

AppLock Pro is designed with privacy as a primary focus. The core functionality of the App (locking apps and detecting intruders) operates locally on your device. However, to provide certain features and ensure the App functions correctly, we may collect or require access to the following:

### A. Device Permissions (Local Processing)

To provide our core security features, the App requests specific device permissions. **Data processed through these permissions remains locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers:**

*   **Camera:** Used exclusively for the "Intruder Detection" feature to take a photo using the front-facing camera when an incorrect PIN/Pattern is entered. These photos are saved securely in your local device storage.

*   **Usage Access (Usage Stats):** Used to detect which application is currently running in the foreground so the App can instantly show the lock screen if the application is protected.

*   **Device Admin:** Used to detect failed device unlock attempts (e.g., wrong lock screen password) to trigger the Intruder Detection camera.

*   **Display Over Other Apps:** Allows the App to display the PIN/Biometric lock screen on top of your protected applications.

### B. Automatically Collected Information

We use third-party services (like Google Firebase) to monitor app health, deliver remote configurations, and send notifications. These services automatically collect certain metadata, including:

*   **Device Information:** Device model, manufacturer, brand, OS version, and Android API level.

*   **App Information:** App version name and version code.

*   **Identifiers:** A uniquely generated anonymous Installation ID and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) Token to manage remote settings (like kill-switches or forced updates) and deliver push notifications.

*   **Crash Reports:** Diagnostic data and crash logs (via Firebase Crashlytics) to help us identify and fix bugs.

## 2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

*   **To Provide Core Features:** Operating the local app locker and intruder detection features.

*   **App Maintenance & Improvement:** Analyzing crash reports and usage metadata to fix bugs and improve app stability.

*   **Remote Configuration:** Ensuring your app is up to date and applying necessary security patches or access controls.

*   **Communication:** Sending essential service updates and alerts via push notifications.

## 3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

*   **Intruder Photos:** Photos taken by the Intruder Detection feature are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to our servers or any third party. If you enable the "Show in Gallery" feature, photos will be saved to your device's public storage; otherwise, they remain in a private, sandboxed directory.

*   **PINs & Biometrics:** Your security PIN is stored locally in an encrypted format using Android's DataStore. We do not have access to your PIN. Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) is handled entirely by the Android OS; we only receive a success/failure signal.

*   **Metadata & Analytics:** Diagnostic and device metadata are securely transmitted to and stored by Google Firebase.

## 4. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Link to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the App:

## 5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We **do not** sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may disclose your information only in the following scenarios:

*   **With Service Providers:** To third-party vendors (like Google Firebase) who assist us in operating our App.

*   **Legal Requirements:** If required to do so by law, or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).

## 6. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

## 7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
