Welcome to AppLock Secure ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data and device security.
This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application AppLock Secure collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our services.
Privacy-First and Offline-Only Security Architecture
AppLock Secure is built on a privacy-by-design approach:
Local Credential Storage: Your security credentials (PIN, pattern lock, biometrics preference) never leave your device.
No Remote Credential Sync: We do not operate user accounts, databases, or remote servers to store your passwords, PINs, or biometric records.
Zero App Data Interception: AppLock Secure does not inspect, read, log, or transmit the contents, chats, photos, or data inside the applications you lock.
Device Permissions and Usage
To perform its core application-locking functions, AppLock Secure requires the following Android permissions:
Package Usage Stats (android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) Purpose: Detects in real time which application has come to the foreground so AppLock Secure can present the lock screen before unauthorized access occurs. Data Handling: Application package names are evaluated in volatile device memory (RAM) in real time. We do not store, profile, or transmit your app usage history or browsing activity.
Display Over Other Apps / System Alert Window (android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) Purpose: Allows AppLock Secure to display the secure PIN/Pattern lock screen overlay directly on top of protected applications.
Biometric Authentication (android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC / android.permission.USE_FINGERPRINT) Purpose: Enables fingerprint or biometric unlocking as configured by you. Data Handling: Biometric authentication is handled exclusively by the Android operating system's native BiometricPrompt framework. AppLock Secure never has access to, nor stores, your raw fingerprint or biometric template.
Foreground Service (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE / android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE) Purpose: Ensures the app locking engine remains consistently active in the background to prevent the operating system from terminating protection.
Query All Packages (android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) Purpose: Scans and presents the list of launchable apps installed on your device so you can choose which apps to lock.
Post Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS) Purpose: Displays persistent foreground service notifications required by Android OS for background security monitors.
Data Deletion
Data Deletion: Uninstalling the Application completely and permanently removes all stored preferences, credentials, and local settings from your device.
