Apogee Learning ("we", "our", "us") operates the mobile application "Current Affairs Apogee" (the "App"), available on the Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the App.
By downloading, installing, registering for, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This Privacy Policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India.

We collect the following categories of information when you use the App:
• Account Information: Email address and name (or profile information) when you sign up or log in.
• Payment Information: When you purchase a subscription or paid content, payment is processed by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or banking credentials. We may receive a transaction ID, payment status, and the amount paid for our records.
• Quiz and Mock Test Activity: Your responses, scores, attempt history, and performance data when you attempt mock tests or quizzes within the App.
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and Android advertising ID.
• Usage Data: Pages viewed, time spent in the App, features used, crash reports, and similar diagnostic data.
• Log Data: IP address, access times, app version, and error logs.
We do not collect your phone number, precise location (GPS), contacts, photos, microphone input, or any sensitive personal data such as Aadhaar, PAN, financial account numbers, or biometric information.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
• To create and manage your user account.
• To deliver current affairs content, mock tests, and quizzes.
• To track your test attempts, scores, and learning progress.
• To process subscription or in-app payments through Razorpay.
• To send transactional communications such as account verification emails, password resets, and payment receipts.
• To analyze app usage and improve features, performance, and content quality.
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
• To comply with applicable Indian laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your personal data based on the following grounds:
• Consent: You provide consent at the time of sign-up and when making payments.
• Performance of a Service: Processing necessary to deliver the App's features to you.
• Legal Obligation: Processing required to comply with Indian law, including tax and accounting obligations.
• Legitimate Use: Processing for purposes such as fraud prevention, security, and improving our services.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following trusted service providers, strictly to deliver the App's functionality:

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how users interact with the App, measure performance, and detect crashes. Firebase may collect device identifiers, usage events, and crash data. You can read Google's privacy policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We may disclose your information if required to do so by Indian law, court order, or a lawful request by a government authority, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
• Account information is retained for as long as your account remains active.
• Mock test and quiz attempt data is retained for as long as your account remains active so you can review your progress history.
• Payment transaction records are retained for at least 8 years to comply with Indian tax and accounting laws.
• If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
We implement reasonable security practices and procedures consistent with the IT Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011, including:
• Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
• Secure password hashing handled by Supabase Auth.
• PCI-DSS compliant payment processing handled by Razorpay.
• Restricted access to user data on a need-to-know basis.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
• Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Correction: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent to processing at any time.
• Right to Grievance Redressal: You can raise a complaint regarding the handling of your data.
• Right to Nominate: You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by:

Upon verification of your identity, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for data we are required to retain under law (such as payment transaction records).
The App is intended for use by individuals preparing for competitive examinations and is not specifically targeted at children under the age of 13. If you are a minor, please use the App only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information.
The App is intended for users in India. However, some of our service providers (such as Supabase and Google Firebase) may store or process data on servers located outside India. By using the App, you consent to such transfer, processing, and storage of your information outside India, provided such transfers comply with applicable Indian law.
The App may use local storage, session tokens, and device identifiers to keep you signed in and improve your experience. These are not browser cookies in the traditional sense, but serve a similar function within the App environment.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
