Our Story

We believe that children learn best through play! They learn how to interact with peers, problem solve, use their imaginations, develop fine and gross motor skills and much more!

"Play is the highest form of research." - Albert Einstein

I am so excited that you have taken the time to visit our site and learn about what we have to offer! I am Jessica, the owner and director of A Place to Grow. I have 25 years of early childhood education experience and a masters degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Prior to moving to WY I worked for a large child care center in CO. I have experience as a classroom teacher and a center director. Before opening our center I was an advocate for children with developmental disabilities and their families at a local non-profit.

My husband's and my life took an amazing turn in 2016 when we received a call we were going to be adopting a baby boy! In the matter of a few hours we went from a family of 2 to a family of 3 (4 actually, we have a sweet lab mix named Lola)! During my maternity leave I began my search for child care and very quickly realized that most of the centers in our area had waiting lists for infants. I was lucky enough to eventually find childcare I felt comfortable with for our baby Lucas, but it was difficult and really changed my perspective on what families experience when choosing childcare.

Shortly after returning to work we experienced another twist when I was affected by a budget related lay off. During my employment search, I kept dreaming of the possibility of owning my own center. Early childhood education is my passion and I missed my days as a center director. My vision has always been to provide high quality care in a safe, nurturing, fun environment. With the encouragement and support of family and friends, my dream became a reality in July 2017!

I believe children need to explore and experience things hands on to learn and reach their full potential. I want to provide an environment that supports the individual development and needs of each child in our care. My goal is to employ teachers and support staff that have the same passion as I do! I know from personal experience how hard it is to leave your child in someone else's care everyday. I hope to help all our families feel like they have made the best choice regarding their child's care. Please let us know what questions you have about our center. We look forward to getting to know your family!
